Amide — every dose, linked

Privacy Policy

Effective October 3, 2026. Optional Connections added October 7, 2026.

What We Collect

We collect nothing from you, and that's the purpose of self-hosting Amide. Amide does not collect any data from you, nor does the system "phone home" with any data. The only things that ever leave your installation are the optional connections you switch on yourself, listed under Optional Connections below.

Health-Related Data

Your protocol data (peptides, protocols, dosages, etc) may qualify as health information under regulations like GDPR. We do not see any of that information. Your keys, your data. Only you can share your data with whoever you personally choose.

Amide is not a healthcare provider and is not subject to HIPAA.

Protocol Pages

Anything listed in the protocol pages is for educational and research purposes only.

Cookies

We use a single cookie:

  • Authentication cookies — Used to keep a user logged in. These keep your session active. You can't opt out and still use account features.

Browser Storage

Amide stores nothing in browser storage aside from the cookie discussed above. If you install Amide to your home screen, your browser keeps a small helper script (a service worker) so the app can open; it stores none of your data.

Clearing your browser data removes all of it. Nothing here is used for advertising or shared with anyone.

Optional Connections

Each of these is off until you turn it on, and Amide works fully without them:

  • Dose reminders (ntfy). If you turn reminders on in Settings, Amide sends a short message (the peptide's name, the dose and the protocol's name) to the ntfy server it is set to use, which is ntfy.sh unless the person running your Amide chose their own. Anyone who knows your reminder topic can read those messages, so keep it private. Turn reminders off in Settings and nothing is sent.
  • Link descriptions. When you save a link on the Links page without writing a description, Amide fetches that page once (a plain request with no cookies and nothing about you) to read a short description. It never contacts addresses on your own network. The person running your Amide can turn this off (AMIDE_LINK_DESCRIPTIONS=0).
  • USDA food search. If the person running your Amide set a USDA FoodData Central key, the Add food dialog offers a search button. Pressing it sends what you typed to the USDA (api.nal.usda.gov). Without the key the button does not exist and nothing is sent.
  • Calendar subscription. If you create a private calendar address in Settings, anyone who has that address can read your dose schedule. Make a new address or turn it off in Settings and the old one stops working.
  • Price-list watcher. A separate program you may run on your own computer can read price lists from chat groups you choose, using your own account on that service, and send them to your own Amide.

Third-Party Services

We do not enforce any Third-Party services in Amide. There are links attached that take you to outside sites, but those are useable at your own discretion, and do not reduce the usability of Amide. They are simply helpful items.

There are options to connect to Third-Party hardware, such as smart scales and health trackers, but again, these are completely at your discretion.

Each service has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them.

Data Retention

We keep none of your data, the point of self-hosting.

Age Requirement

Amide is for adults 18 and older. If you're under 18, don't install Amide or create an account.

Changes to This Policy

We'll update this page when our practices change and note the date at the top. Continued use of Amide is your confirmation of agreement with this policy.
